Off-road Motorsports Youth Foundation

Off-Road Motorsports Youth Foundation (OMYF) is a nonprofit organization and desert race team based in Evansville, IN. OMYF is led by cancer survivor and motorsports enthusiast, Preston Lewis, whose dream is to give young people affected by unfortunate life circumstances the opportunity to learn about and connect with the motorsports industry. Through hands-on off-road motorsports racing experiences, OMYF gives young people the chance to explore their passions and discover how to apply them in a way that enhances their lives and impacts the community around them. The OMYF team wants to make tomorrow bigger, better, and brighter for everyone, and give children opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise get without OMYF.

Now that most of us are home from the and we have gotten a real shower and good nights sleep it’s time to reflect back on this years SCORE International Baja 1000. For everyone on our team this race is a dream. It’s something that we have all idolized and strived to be a part of. Baja did not disappoint and it never does. It’s a landscape of pure beauty and yet can be so relentless and brutal. Navigator Jared Voegerl aka Rabbit, described it as “a 24 hour plane crash. It’s just pure chaos that you’re trying to tame …… but it’s the most fun you can have”

A race of this size and magnitude takes an incredibly talented team and an incredible amount of support from our friends, family, and sponsors. 100% of all donations, sponsors funding, and any OMYF merchandise puchased goes directly to getting the kids into the truck and racing! We can not thank our sponsors and anyone who donated enough! We want to thank everyone on our team, thank you to Dean Dewig for joining the team, helping in the shop and being an excellent driver for Chase 3. Thank you Kelley Mossberger for all the amazing meals, helping pack equipment and navigating Chase 3. Thank you @joshua McIntosh and @jared Slattery for driving down from northern Cali and bringing Chase trucks to assist in the race! Thank you Zach Bristow for assisting Chase 1 with navigation and helping with final prep on the race truck. Thank you Sheldon Lewis and @jared voegerl for racing the first stage of the race and handling all the un for seen challenges in the race truck. Thank you Shannon Lewis and Samantha Queen for being the drivers for the 2nd stage and all the effort you guys put into helping locate the truck. Thank you @sam harvey and @sussie Sheller for running the home base communication and the live stream from the truck.

Without everyone’s help, and commitment to the team none of this would have been possible.

What is OMYF?

Our Mission

Connecting the youth of today with hands-on experience in off-road motorsports.

OUR GOAL

“The whole goal for this foundation is to be able to give kids the golden ticket, as I call it. If we can just give them one trait or one piece of advice that they can carry for the rest of their life and go somewhere great with it, whatever it is, that’s the best possible outcome we can have.”

Preston Lewis, Executive Director
